چکیده
Two new spiranoid withanolides, (20R,22R,23R)-12β ,17β ,22-trihydroxy-1-oxo-12,23-cycloergosta-2,24-dien-26,23-olide (3) and (23R)-5α ,6β ,12β ,21-tetrahydroxy-1,22-dioxo-12,23-cycloergosta-2,17,24-trien-26,23-olide (4) were isolated from plants of Jaborosa odonelliana and Jaborosa runcinata, respectively. Compounds 3 and 4 were characterized by a combination of spectroscopic methods (1D and 2D NMR, MS) and molecular modelling.

Withanolides with phytotoxic activity from Jaborosa caulescens var. caulescens and J. caulescens var. bipinnatifida 1.
Seven new withanolides (1-7) were isolated from the aerial parts of Jaborosa caulescens var. caulescens and Jaborosa caulescens var. bipinnatifida. Three of the new compounds are related to jaborosalactones R, S, and T with a delta-lactone side chain and a hemiketal (or ketal) ring formed between a 21-hydroxyl and a 12-ketone (1-3). Compounds 4-7 are trechonolide-type withanolides with a gamma-...
متن کاملThe Importance of Oligosulfides in the Attraction of Fly Pollinators to the Brood-site Deceptive Species Jaborosa Rotacea (solanaceae)
Premise of research. Brood-site deceptive flowers use dishonest signals—especially floral odors that mimic oviposition substrates—to attract and deceive saprophilous insects to pollinate them. In this work, we recorded the pollinators of the sapromyiophilous species Jaborosa rotacea (Solanaceae) endemic to southern South America. Then, we characterized the floral volatiles of this species, and ...
متن کاملKaryological studies in Jaborosa (Solanaceae)
Sixteen species of Jaborosa (Solanaceae), including eight endemic to Argentina, were studied karyologically. The numbers n = 12 and/or 2n = 24 were found in all species, the majority of the cases being new reports. Mitotic chromosomes were smallto medium-sized, the average length varying from 2.95 to 4.93 mm. All species had one to three chromosome pairs with satellites. The karyotypes, obtaine...
متن کاملChemistry and Bioactivity of Withanolides from South American Solanaceae
Since the isolation of withaferin A in 1965 over 300 withanolides have been described, largely from genera belonging to the Solanaceae. Although until the mid eighties most of the withanolides appeared to adhere to the basic structure of withaferin A, nowadays a considerable number of withanolides and withanolide related compounds are known, which present modified skeletons, aromatic rings, add...
متن کاملStereochemistry determination by powder X-ray diffraction analysis and NMR spectroscopy residual dipolar couplings.
Traditional techniques for stereochemistry analysis have limitations; for example solution NMR spectroscopy has spatial limitation for the transference of stereochemical information, and suitable single crystals for X-ray analysis may not be available. Residual dipolar coupling (RDC) and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) are both techniques whose use is not yet widespread. We report a double-blin...
